Decorative inlays are often included at the bowl's circumference.

Each bowl is finished with multiple coats of spar varnish, lacquer or
mineral oil depending on expected usage.  Cleaning only with warm
water and a
clean cloth is recommended.

of wood, inlay and finish.  Typically, a 7 inch diameter bowl made
from birch and walnut with an inlay is priced at $65.
